Personal Protective Equipment
Participants will learn about the proper selection, use and care of required PPE as well as applicable standards.
Duration: 4 hours

Fall Arrest
To provide participants with instruction on proper anchor points, inspection, donning, care and use of fall arrest harnesses as well as considerations for post fall rescue and applicable standards.
Duration: 4 hours

Respiratory Protection
Participants will learn about the requirements for a proper respiratory protection program. Participants will be instructed on proper selection, donning and care of their respirators. If requested a qualitative fit test can be conducted and fit test records provided.
Duration: 4 hours

Self Contained Breathing Apparatus
Participants will learn about the requirements for a proper respiratory protection program. Participants will be instructed on how to don and wear the SCBA. Maintenance and inspection requirements will also be covered.

Air Monitoring

Noise Exposure

Ladder / Scaffold Safety Awareness
Instruction will be provided on safe ladder/scaffold use. Including proper selection, inspection, footing, positioning, work planning and hazard assessment before beginning the job.
Duration: 4 hours

Power / Hand Tools Awareness
Instruction will be given on the hazards associated with various power tools and hand tools. The course will include the recommended safe work practices when using the tools.
Duration: 4 hours

Fire Extinguisher
Participants will learn about the fire tetrahedron, different classes of fire extinguishers and the proper method of using an extinguisher to put out a fire.
Duration: 4 hours

Electrical Safety Awareness
Upon completion, participants will be able to recognize the safe work practices needed to minimize electrical hazards for all trades on the jobsite. Topics include:

  • Review of legislation
  • Selection, inspection, and use of extension cords
  • Circuit testers, GFCIs, and power tools
  • Temporary lighting and service panels
  • Lockout procedures and practices

Duration: 4 hours

Lockout / Tag Out
Participants will learn about the applicable legislation in standards requiring equipment to be neutralized. Instruction will be provided on the elements of a proper Lockout/Tag Out program as well as procedure development.
