EXPERIENCED PAINTER

Job Description:

First Response is a full service, privately held company providing Structural
Restoration, Remediation and Environmental Emergency Services to both the
private and public sectors.
First Response is currently seeking an expert painter who can immediately put
their experience to work on a variety of building initiatives involving both
commercial and residential applications.

Objectives of this Role
• Load and unload, and identify and distribute materials to the appropriate
location
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand exact specifications
and demands
• Provide accurate estimations reflective of job completion timeframes
• Update clients on the progress of work throughout the engagement
• Smooth and prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding and removing
old paint
• Fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with putty, plaster, or other filler as
required
• Tape, float, and texture walls and ceilings
• Stain, seal, and varnish wood surfaces
• Erect scaffolding or set up ladder to perform tasks above ground level
• Mix paints efficiently to meet color and tone expectations
• Work on a variety of mediums as required of the job
• Always adhere to safety guidelines and procedures
• Maintain a professional impression always
• Keen eye for aesthetic and visual precision
• High attention to detail
• Meticulous and diligent
• Steady hand to ensure precision
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Flexible to travel to job sites

REQUIRED Skills and Qualifications
(Only those with the following qualifications need apply.)

• Minimum Experience 5 years residential / commercial painting
• Possess a Class G Drivers Licence with clean driving record
• Clear Criminal Check / Bondable
• Willing to work 24/7 in an on-call environment
• Willing to work out-of-town (at times)

Hourly Rate will be solely based on experience and qualifications. We offer a
lucrative hourly wage for specialty work subject to premiums and per diems for
out of town work.

ABATEMENT TECHNICIAN-CERTIFIED

First Response is a recognized industry leader in emergency response services pertaining to Hazardous
Materials, CRBNE, Confined Space Rescue, Environmental Remediation and Restoration. Our company is
in the position of seeking new talent to grow our expanding operation. Our ideal candidates are those
who are team oriented with flexibility and availability in their schedules with the execution of 24/7
Emergency Response.

We are looking to fill full-time positions for those with the following skills:
Requirements:

Min. 2 years experience Mould and Asbestos abatement
Asbestos Worker 253W/253S
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Class G driver’s license – Required
Transportation to and from site
Basic computer skills required, proficiency with Microsoft, Mobile Apps

*** Applicants must have a minimum of 1 – 2 years experience in Mould/Asbestos removal ***

Asbestos Awareness Certification
Valid Police Check
Strong work ethic
Physically fit and willing to work in PPE/Full Face APR
Willingness to work out of town on occasion

CARPENTER / MULTI-TRADE

We are looking to fill a full-time position.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Measure, cut, shape and join moldings, wood materials, drywall and plastic materials.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, moldings and hardware.
• Build floor beams and subflooring.
• Build walls and install partitions.
• Install suspended ceilings.
• Build and install framing for dropped ceilings, counters, indirect lighting and display cases.
• Erect prefabricated roof trusses, braces and sheathing.
• Build in place pitched roof systems.
• Build roof trusses.
• Build built in place flat roofs.
• Install flashing.
• Install interior doors / exterior doors including hardware.
• Install floor tiles or rolled flooring.
• Install drywall and vapour barrier / insulation.
• Tape drywall.
• Build porches and verandas.
• Build decks and fences.
• Build and install flat forms, scaffolding, ramps and ladders.

Qualifications Required:
Minimum (5) years work experience.
Must be bondable and pass a criminal record check.
Must have a valid Class G driver’s license.
Valid Police Check.

Restoration Technician

Job Description

First Response is a full service, privately held company providing Structural
Restoration, Remediation and Environmental Emergency Services to both the
private and public sectors.

First Response is currently seeking a Restoration Technician who can
immediately put their training to work on a variety of building initiatives involving
both commercial and residential applications. This professional will be
responsible for working on multiple projects at once, ensuring compliance with all
related procedures, regulations, and codes. In addition to Water Remediation,
this role is developmental and can incorporate specialized training initiatives that
will advance the applicants career opportunities. There are several areas where
the skills of a qualified Restoration Technician cross over to our Environmental
Division and we are looking to develop the right candidates for specialized roles.

Objectives of this Role
• Utilize available resources to perform project duties efficiently
• Perform all work in a safe and efficient manner ensuring all health and safety
policies are followed
• Function as part of a collaborative environment and work closely with other
team members and industry professionals
• Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to industry standards

Responsibilities
• Clean and prepare sites to eliminate possible hazards and ensure day-to-day
safety and keep tools and equipment in good working condition
• Load and unload, and identify and distribute materials to the appropriate
location
• Operate machinery according to instruction, project plans and specifications
• Document and report daily workflow along with any work delays,
emergencies, and other project disruptions
• Assessment and execution of required remediation effort(s) including
removal of effected building fabrics and contents
• Clean-up and disposal
• Equipment set up and take down
• Equipment monitoring (reporting to include proper documentation of moisture
readings)

REQUIRED Skills and Qualifications
(Only those with the following qualifications need apply.)

• Minimum Experience – 1 – 2 years in the Water Damage Restoration Industry
having a good working knowledge of IICRC S520 / S500 standards (WRT,
ASD, MRS, AMRT)
• Possess a Class G Drivers Licence
• Clear Criminal Check / Bondable
• Willing to work 24/7 in an on-call environment
